Data loss occurs more often than you would think. In fact, even individuals who pride themselves in their backup regimen can incur data loss. That external hard drive that they use for backups can be susceptible to data loss.
Such was the case for one CBL customer whose HDD could be heard emitting the feared and dreaded click, click, click noises, the foreshadowing of lost priceless and sentimental photographs of friends, family and travel, insurance documents, technical references for work, an entire music collection, and the names and addresses of business contacts.
Would this day without data continue to be a dark, dark day or would the clouds disperse, the sun come out, and the birds start singing?
