Here on Platter Chatter we like to focus our writing on issues of data loss, prevention, keeping business running through disasters and recovering critical data in emergencies — stuff that we live and breath at CBL Data Recovery. However, there are lots of moments of joy and good news when data is recovered and life gains a sense of normalcy back. Those tidbits, small and large, are fun to share too.

A recent customer of our lab in Toronto, Canada came to us like many in dire need of some assistance. While waiting for our engineers to do their magic, it dawned on her that if fate leaned in her favour (with the help of our expertise) she should pay it forward somehow. We love that sort of thing and received word from her today that a donation was made in our honour to Doctors Without Borders.

Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders is a great choice as it’s an organization we feel we share a common drive with. Providing emergency medical assistance to those caught in catastrophes, disasters and health crises feels a lot like the emergency service we provide to customers. Currently with the record-setting drought situation in Somalia and the Horn of Africa region the famine relief mission can definitely use the support.

Thanks Elizabeth. Today, by helping you, it feels like we are also helping the world.

Close-up of a card slightly open on purple counter at CBL Data Recovery, some open hard drives, platters exposed, sitting in distance. Card front has a barren desert-like landscape photo. Some text on the bottom of the inside of the card is visible: 'I swore I would do a good deed for the world if my data was saved. Thank you, CBL!'. Back of the card shows the Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders logo and a description of the organization 'MSF is an independent international medical humanitarian organization...'
“I swore I would do a good deed for the world if my data was saved.
Thank you, CBL!”
