Ever wonder what’s on the inside of the camera card? Just a few electronic chips soldered on to a tiny circuit board is all that houses your vacation photos. Given the close proximity of the components, electrical discharges are often catastrophic. In this case the burn mark you see on the bottom chip is not good news. It will take some delicate recovery work to save these photos.
