One minute it’s working, the next it’s not. Must be a simple problem, right? I wish it was that simple. Identifying the problem is the start of determining which path to take. Once you recognize that using a software solution is right for you, choosing the right one is the next hurdle.

Various data recovery programs can take minutes or several hours to scan your hard drive so picking the right one can save you precious time when that company report was due last week. Here’s which software you should use and when to use it.

Accidentally delete some files? Did you press the wrong button on your digital camera and format your memory card? Click on one of those annoying web pop-ups and your files are missing? If these situations seem all too familiar CBL Data Recovery Software may be the answer to your problems. This software is designed exactly for those kinds of “oopsie” situations and is value priced.

On the other hand you may have run into more complex issues such as: hard drive partition damage, multiple read errors, file allocation table corruption, or even situations where your operating system fails to detect the drive. With more in depth scanning options, CBL Pro-V is better equipped to handle much more complex issues — even particularly nasty malware and virus problems.

If you’re still confused why not try them both? CBL Data Recovery Software and CBL Pro-V are available for trial downloads for free. Each program will scan your drive, show you results, and even allow some files to be previewed. This way you will know exactly what data you will be able to recover. So next time you encounter a problem with your data, a CBL software solution might be just a click away.

Hi Ben, unfortunately it sounds like you may have a hardware failure with your hard drive. A “clicking” sound is a classic symptom of a hard drive crash. In these kinds of situations it is not possible to use software to resolve your issue. We can perform a free evaluation on your drive if you send it into one of our labs.
